March 17th: War In Libya?

Image
Update :  On the evening of March 17th, the U.N. Security Council approved (10-0, 5 abstainees) measures including a no-fly zone to try to halt Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi's advances and the use of any other measures necessary to protect Libyans. Canada immediately noted they were ready to send 6 fighter jets to Libya to help enforce the no-fly zone. News services reported that the first strikes will be unilateral ones by British and French aircraft. Those countries' fighters could be in the air within hours of the resolution's approval. It is likely five Arab air forces will take part. US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton  had earlier said  it will mean bombing Libyan air defenses.  On the morning of March 18, 2011, New York time, Libya's foreign minister declared a cease-fire after the U.N. Security Council approved the no-fly zone to protect civilians. Later reports, however, note that t wenty-five people, including several children, were ki...

Thai Braveheart Assassinated At Triple Overpass

Image
Sometimes, it is all about location, location, location. Read the news more deeply, everyday. Khattiya Sawasdipol (Thai: ขัตติยะ สวัสดิผล; RTGS: Khattiya Sawatdiphon; born: June 2, 1951, assassination shooting: May 13, 2010; died: May 17, 2010), alias Seh Daeng (Thai: เสธ.แดง; RTGS: Se Daeng; English: Red Commander), was a major general in the Royal Thai Army, assigned to the Internal Security Operations Command. The U.K.'s Mirror published the above photo, taken moments after the shooting. Khattiya Sawasdipol was shot in the head (apparently by a sniper) on May 13, 2010, while being interviewed by The New York Times reporter Thomas Fuller while standing at the Sala Daeng Sky Train station, which is literally a triple overpass, near a famed monument. Khattiya had previously claimed he had helped the United States spy on North Vietnam during the Vietnam War, and to have taken part in the CIA-financed "Secret War" against the communists in the Plain of Jars, in Laos. Khat...

Close Encounters of Fourth Kind Author Dies

Image
The death of author C. D. B. Bryan, 73, who wrote his last book about an academic symposium that examined claims of alien visitations, Close Encounters of the Fourth Kind: Alien Abductions, UFOs and the Conference at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (NY: Alfred A. Knopf,1995), has been detailed in an obituary by Bruce Weber at The New York Times . C. D. B. Bryan, a novelist and journalist whose 1976 book, "Friendly Fire," about the accidental death of a soldier in Vietnam, the consequent anguish of his family and their rage at the Army and the federal government, became one of the enduring works of reportage on the Vietnam War, died Tuesday [December 15, 2009] at home in Guilford, Conn....The cause was cancer, said his son, St. George Bryan. Bryan's own military career involved serving in the U.S. Army in South Korea (1958–1960), but not happily, according to source material . He was mobilized again (1961–1962) for the Berlin Crisis of 1961. He was an intelligence ...

Morgan & Sturgis?

Image
So you are unaware of the name Bob Morgan in conjunction with that of Frank Sturgis, Watergate burglar, CIA operative, and Bay of Pigs player? People who study Bigfoot understand the history of Robert W. Morgan and his involvement in the search for the elusive creatures. Few realize that Morgan has a rich legacy, as well, cryptopolitically . This will all change in January 2010 after Morgan's new book Citizen Spy is published. Robert Morgan Canton reporter Diana Rossetti recently interviewed Morgan, and wrote an interesting overview of the man's life: At 74 years old, Robert W. Morgan still muses, only half joking, about what he wants to do when he grows up. Until he narrows the possibilities, here is what the 1954 Lincoln High School [Canton, Ohio] graduate already has under his belt: Morgan led the first expeditions in search of what he now calls “forest giant people” and others variously dubbed Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Yeti and the Abominable Snowman. He still believes the hair...

Mena: Mysterious Mecca

Image
The Masonic Lodge was destroyed, in a town with a name not heard since the William Jefferson Clinton era. Yes, I'm on the level. James Reeves, the Polk County emergency coordinator, says the town of Mena, Arkansas, suffered a direct hit from a tornado between 7:30 and 8 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2009. The tornado killed three people, and injured 30 people, while it seriously damaged or destroyed 600 homes in that small western Arkansas town. Tammy Key inspects the destroyed Masonic Lodge in Mena Arkansas, on April 10, 2009, where one person was killed after a tornado struck the building on April 9th. Battered residents of this western Arkansas town waited for day light to dig out from a "direct hit" by a tornado that killed three people, and flattened homes and businesses, including a manufacturing plant. (AP Photo/Mike Wintroath) One of the victims was found in a collapsed house, one in a Masonic Lodge (seven people reportedly sought shelter there), and another person was...

Panetta's CIA Think Tank?

Has Leon Panetta been connected to intelligence activities for years? Are the media overlooking the visible hints? Panetta is President-elect Barack Obama's nominee for the Director of the Center of Intelligence Agency. People are acting shocked. But is Panetta closely linked to having perhaps set up a military-intelligence university think tank in California? Panetta's visible biography is well-known. His seemingly military-related experience seems thin (but don't be fooled). In 1964, Panetta joined the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant. There he received the Army Commendation Medal, and was discharged in 1966 as a Captain. He was a Congressman from 1976-1993. While a member of Congress, he was Vice Chairman of the Caucus of Vietnam-Era Veterans in Congress, but he does not seem to be credited as being a member of any intelligence oversight subcommittees. On July 17, 1994, Panetta was appointed White House Chief of Staff by Clinton, a position he held until Jan...

Jonestown, Harvey Milk, and George Moscone

Image
Few realize that the massacre at Jonestown is related to the assassinations of Harvey Milk and George Moscone, and to the murders of others more obviously linked to the People's Temple cult. In the following excerpt from The Copycat Effect , the ripples from this 30 year old tragedy are examined and these dots are connected. George Moscone, Jim Jones, and Walter Mondale (above). Jonestown One of the most discussed modern mass suicides occurred in the unique setting of Jonestown, Guyana. Jonestown in the early 1970s was little more than a nine‑hundred acre island cut out of the thick South American rainforest. It was there that the Reverend James Warren “Jim” Jones relocated his People's Temple from the San Francisco area. Allegations were first published in the Guyana Daily Mirror that Jonestown was a “concentration camp” in which Jones’s flock were given psychotropic drugs, sexually abused, sleep deprived, and forced to work 18 hour days. Former members told of drills, called...
